When I found out about The Nut Butter Company and the fact that they wanted bloggers to review their product, I couldn’t resist the opportunity! This is a small business out of California that believes in quality ingredients and no preservatives – and I couldn’t agree more. Their company motto is, “little by little, let’s replace each pre-packaged product in our pantry with real foods made without being overly processed and overly preserved.” Coming from a couple who simply began making their product as gifts for friends, you know this is a reliable mission statement. All of the flavors I received are vegan, gluten-free and absolutely unique in so many right ways.
I received a sample pack of five flavors: Almond Espressso Cinnamon, Cashew Rosemary Shallot, Pecan Almond, Walnut Brown Sugar Coconut, and Cashew Honey Dark Chocolate. Each of these flavors is Paleo. They also have Spanish Peanut Chili Lime and Hazelnut White Chocolate Crunch flavors, but these are not Paleo (the White Chocolate Crunch is also not vegan, as it contains milk). I highly praise the owners, Jen and Mike, for sending me the products that do not contain soy, peanuts, or dairy. They knew I was Paleo and made sure to listen to that lifestyle. That is what I call respect for your customers!
Anyway, here are my thoughts on each of the flavors in the order I tried them. It was hard work, but someone had to take one for the team!
Walnut Brown Sugar Coconut
This was the first time I’d tried walnut butter, and I could definitely tell that it would be a more bitter nut butter without the flavors added to it. The Nut Butter company did a good job of balancing this out by adding the sweetness of coconut and brown sugar. Had they tried adding those ingredients to, say, cashew butter, I don’t think it would cover as full a taste spectrum and could actually be too sweet. I liked the fully-body effect of slight bitterness and just enough sweet to compliment it. This felt like a high-class addition to my apple slices!
Ingredients: Toasted walnuts, Natural unsweetened flaked coconut, Culinary coconut milk (water, organic coconut cream, guar gum), Brown sugar, Sea salt.

Almond Espresso Cinnamon
I. Love. Almond. Butter. With that bias in mind, it’s good to mention that I’ve also started drinking Bulletproof Coffee each morning, so yes, I love coffee as well. Plus cinnamon? You’ve got to be kidding me. This stuff is creamy, sweet, and way too easy to eat all at once. Please get this flavor.
Ingredients: Toasted almonds, Ground espresso, Coconut sugar, Sea salt.

Pecan Almond
This is such a simple idea, but oh so delicious. The perfect add-on for an apple, with just a little bit of salt and enough pecan to create an extra spin on classic almond butter. LOVE.

Cashew Rosemary Shallot
I’m being completely honest when I say I’ve never liked a savory nut butter before. I don’t know if my mouth just always expects sweet when I open a jar, or if I truly don’t like it, but this stuff changed my mind. Cashew butter is by far my favorite kind of nut butter, so that may have helped. But the shallots and rosemary are NOT overwhelming at all and I actually just ate this stuff by the spoonful. It would make an excellent addition to a stir-fry as a peanut replacement as well. I highly recommend this flavor!
Ingredients: Toasted cashews, Rosemary coconut oil (Coconut oil infused with fresh rosemary), Shallots, Sea Salt.

Cashew Honey Dark Chocolate
I knew this would be an addiction as soon as I read the label. Like I already said, cashew butter is my favorite. I’m a chocolate lover. And honey just makes it that much better. This stuff is thick, creamy, and absolutely irresistible. This is definitely my favorite. It is a must-have!
Ingredients: Cashews, 90% Dark chocolate (chocolate, cacao butter, cacao powder with alkali sugar, boubon, vanilla bean), Honey, Coconut oil, Sea salt.

Basically, y’all need to send this company some love. Their products are of high quality and are absolutely delicious. There is something for every person’s flavor pallet and you’ll fall in love with them just as I did!
